Cold Bore

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 4, 2026
Developer: Squirrel Hat LLC
Contact: [email protected]

Cold Bore is a shot group analysis app that runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, sell or share any of your personal data.

Summary

What the app stores on your device

Cold Bore keeps the following on your device, in the app's private storage:

We cannot see this data. The app does not upload it to any server, and on Android it is excluded from Google's automatic cloud backup.

Permissions

PermissionWhy it is used
CameraTo photograph a target so you can measure a shot group. Photos are only taken when you choose to take one.
Photos / mediaTo choose an existing target photo, and to save exported group images to a “Cold Bore” album when you ask the app to.

Cold Bore does not request location, microphone, contacts or internet access.

Photo metadata

Target photos you add are re-encoded before the app stores them. This removes embedded metadata such as GPS location and camera details. Images you export or share are newly rendered by the app and contain no metadata from the original photo.

Exporting and sharing

You can export backups (JSON) and images of your groups. You choose where these files go: a folder on your device, your photo library, or another app through your device's share sheet. After you share a file with another app or person, that app's or person's privacy practices apply to it.

JSON backups include your target photos, so treat backup files as you would your photos.

Deleting your data

We hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Children

Cold Bore is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at the same location.
